Information we process

Stripe hosts checkout and processes your payment. It collects the contact, billing, payment, device, and transaction information needed to provide its services. GSV can view payment and customer details in Stripe to manage payments, accounting, disputes, and support. Our website does not receive your full card number or security code.

Our contribution ledger stores the selected project, amount, payment identifiers, payment date, accepted terms version, and refund or dispute adjustments. It does not store your name or email. The public ledger displays project totals only.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and contribution ledger. It processes request information, which may include your IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the service. If you contact GSV, we receive the information you include in your message.

Use and sharing

We use this information to process the contribution you request, keep financial records, prevent fraud, resolve payment problems, and answer support requests. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, these uses serve our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and our legal obligations, as applicable.

We share information with the providers needed to perform these functions, including Stripe for payments and Cloudflare for hosting. Information may also be disclosed when required by law. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Stripe’s checkout may use cookies and similar technologies; see Stripe’s privacy policy. Security, retention, and requests

The service uses HTTPS, restricted administrative access, and separately stored payment credentials. We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes above, including applicable accounting, dispute, and legal requirements.

You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict processing, and complain to your data protection authority. Some financial records must be retained even after a deletion request. We may need to verify your request before acting.
